Heidi M. Timmons focuses her practice in civil litigation including public law, general liability defense, civil rights, employment law, and personal injury defense.
Although Ms. Timmons lived in West Virginia for nine years, she is native to the Sacramento area. Ms. Timmons graduated from California State University, Sacramento, Cum Laude, with a major in Spanish and a minor in Criminal Justice. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2005.
Ms. Timmons previously worked as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE); an agent trainee for the U.S. Secret Service; and an associate attorney in real estate law in West Virginia. For eight years, Ms. Timmons served as a judicial law clerk, including two years for a State Court Judge in West Virginia; and six years for two Federal Magistrate Judges in the U.S. District Courts of West Virginia, California, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania.
Ms. Timmons is married to Kevin Macklin, who is a physician assistant in cardiology, and they have one daughter, Ivy, born in 2016. Ms. Timmons enjoys traveling, training for triathlons, and writing fiction. She is admitted to practice in California, West Virginia, and Virginia, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
She is a member of the State Bar of California, West Virginia, and Virginia, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada.
